Ways to Work With Us
Every job gets a fixed quote before work starts. Choose the option that fits your workload and switch as your volume changes.
Per Drawing / Per Sheet
A fixed quote per drawing or sheet. Best for one-off and overflow work. Revisions included, no commitment.
Dedicated Drafter
A full-time drafter assigned to your firm on a monthly basis, who learns your standards in depth and works only on your projects.
Hourly
For open-ended work such as CAD cleanup, data entry and markups, with an estimate up front and time reported per task.
Cost of CAD Drafting Services Per Hour vs Per Project
Hourly pricing suits open-ended work such as CAD cleanup and revisions, where nobody can estimate the scope in advance. Per-project pricing suits repeatable drawings: the price is fixed, so any overrun is our problem, not yours. For most survey, architectural and conversion work, a fixed price per drawing gives you the most predictable cost. Read our full guide on the cost of CAD drafting services: hourly vs per-project.
What Drives CAD Drafting Cost?
Two drawings that look similar can take very different amounts of time. These are the factors that move a quote up or down:
1. Drawing type and complexity
A residential boundary survey is quicker than an ALTA/NSPS survey with twenty plotted exceptions. A single floor plan is quicker than a coordinated permit set. Complexity, not page count, is the biggest cost driver.
2. Quality and completeness of your input
Clean field data with consistent point codes, legible markups and a clear brief cut drafting time. Missing information means questions, waiting and rework, so we flag gaps before we start.
3. Your CAD standards
A good template saves time on every job. If you do not have one, we can build one during the first project, a one-off effort that makes later drawings faster and cheaper.
4. Turnaround
Standard overnight delivery is the default. Same-day rush work, when available, may cost more because it is prioritised over the queue.
5. Volume
Regular volume lowers the cost per drawing, especially with a dedicated drafter who already knows your standards.
Outsourcing vs Hiring In-House
When you compare costs, include everything an in-house drafter costs, not just salary:
- Salary, payroll taxes and benefits
- CAD software licences and hardware
- Recruiting and training time
- Paid time when there is no work
- Management and QA time
With outsourcing you pay for finished drawings only, and capacity flexes with your workload.
